Prom weekend sees several violent films available that fall under different genres.
It's Friday the 13th and we don't have a single horror movie being released. Go watch SHS Drama's "Much Ado About Nothing" instead.
Sahuarita High School Drama Club will perform Shakespeare's famous comedy "Much Ado About Nothing"
One of the best B-movies ever made sweeps everyone up in its excitement.
There is very little competition for Tarantino and Rodriguez this weekend.
This horrible event keeps showing me that all too many Americans still have not learned the lesson that 9/11 could have taught them: that this is a small world, that we are not alone in it, that we cannot continue to ignore those forces that cause violence both on and off our shores, nor can we keep on considering violence as the acceptable response to everything, that human beings suffering in other parts of this globe are just like us, often just like those who suffered and died on Monday. That our oh-so-precious image of the rugged Western hero, once a lone cowboy with his six-shooters and now a vigilante Rambo with far more sophisticated sidearms, is not only tarnished but has covered a core rotten from its first inception.
Because even a Cho Seung-Hui can gird his loins with weapons of war and go on a one-man crusade - but not necessarily against those we consider our enemies. Because in the twisted mind of someone like him, he is that armed-and-dangerous rugged individualist, the only person able to “bring justice” and “do right” in this country.
Sorry, I’m rambling as well as ranting. I don’t have answers at this point. I’m not even angry at this moment, just tired and baffled at all the misery and carnage at Virginia Tech. Right now there are too many “maybes” and “what ifs” buzzing around for me to make much sense of it all except to utterly reject the Cowboy in the White Hat...Dirty Harry...and Rambo. They’re not real people and they don’t operate in the real world.
In fact, I’m beginning to think they don’t have a place in modern human society at all, except as the remaining ghosts of an unrealistically imagined past.
Rest in peace.
This was the weekend that was supposed to get Grindhouse into the top 3 positions, but with all the new releases, it ended up in tenth place.
Coming in first was the Hitchcock-like film, Disturbia, which earned $23 million during its first weekend, and already made back its $20 million budget. It also knocked Blades of Glory to second spot, after two weeks at the top. The film has now earned an amazing $90 million domestically. Meet the Robinsons has been coming in one place lower than Blades of Glory, and this weekend was no different. Meet the Robinsons took third place and are now at $72 million domestically.
The new releases getting terrible reviews were the Bruce Willis and the Halle Berry thriller,_Perfect Stranger_ and the violent Pathfinder, which still managed to come in fourth and sixth place.
While Grindhouse is dying off, Are We Done Yet? only dropped two spots to fifth place and has already earned $33 million in total domestic ticket sales for the last two weeks. In addition, Wild Hogs ended up not dropping a single spot, as it took seventh place with $4.6 million, bringing its total to $152 million.
Thank you very much, Mona. I have performed in four SHS productions, and this is my favorite one, hands-down.
After the play, the cast had a party at Two Girls Pizzaria. It wasn't until then that I realized... this was my last high school performance. I'm still having a hard time comprehending it. Everything went by so fast, and soon I will be leaving for college. I'm getting emotional just typing this.
I'm happy that my swan song as a high school actor was so well-recieved. I'm thankful that I was finally able to meet Mona in person, despite knowing her for some time. Most of all, I'm glad that I actually discovered theatre, and experienced the things that I did.
"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends."

Thanks, the show ended up a success on Friday. I'll see you Saturday.
I'm glad you rented Children of Men. It's one of the best science fiction films of the decade, hands-down.
Don't worry if you are busy tomorrow, we are also presenting on Saturday. I will be playing the part of Benedick.
