When in Rome........
Are non-muslims presuured into following the Muslim holiday norms in Muslim dominant countries? I do know that non-Muslims are expected to stop and respect the 3-times-a-day prayer thing, and I mean literally stop and not move about. I have met and heard of many hardcore Muslims coming to our country and not only giving no respect to our belifs and customs as valid in their eyes, but also showing contempt for such beliefs.
I am not anti anything or anyone....but I do live my life by this simple phrase.....Whats good for the Goose is good for the Gander.
We have already reached and breached an irreversible point. No matter what we do at this point, there will continue to be an impact we will definitely face. But the full impact of total ice cap melting is something that we can help curb. The problem is with continuing overpopulation, countries becomming more oil dependent, such as China, and our rich political leaders who stand to gain no profit in curbing hydrocarbon emissions.
My best advice at this point is to not buy beachfront property, and enjoy today because today is the best our environment will ever be. Sorry if I sound cynical.....I just have this intense need to be realistic.
Every time the school board(s) come up with some new "fix" to a perceived problem, everyone gets all worked-up marches out to solve all the woes and ills, and then.....guess what?.....manages to effect no change whatsoever. The new topic brought to date is 4 years of math. everyone will get all worked up......parents will throw themselves upon the floor before the school board and whimper how their child cannot endure such punishment, bla, bla, bla. In the end it will blow over as if it never happened, sort of like the AIMS joke. Now that we have managed to gut AIMS to the point of being a 2nd grade level test, no one gets worked up over it now because everyone can pass it except for those students that were not going to graduate anyway for other reasons.
So, getting back to math..........hmmmm........The 4 year math thing will blow over and die and fade off into the sunset just like every other NEW and IMPROVED idea that has ever come down the pike. Students do need more math skills. I know this probably better than anyone out there. So just who am I....???

Instead of listening to me, and those who are qualified to make statements, school boards will arrive at decisions from people who have never spent a single day in the classroom except for for photo ops. Yet they seem to have some magical way of knowing what's best for our kids.
Holy cow that is a fantastic photo. What camera do you have, and did you use photoshop or something to help it??? Just curious cause the dramatic effects are something I would like to practice more of.
Arizona came out and with a loud voice they declared that they are sick and fed-up with the issues surrounding illegal entrants. No one can deny the voting results, not even the sickening bleeding heart liberals, unfortunately, those are the ones we ended up putting in office....go figure. I was one of those voters that voted yes on every single proposition to curb aid and benefits to illegals, and I am damn proud of it...even though that I am a Democrat by registration and heart. I am deeply saddened to know that our newly elected will take it upon themselves to NOT do the will of the people by fighting to stall and curb the implementation of these illegal entrant measures that we as Arizonans passed. Mark my words, the vast majority of Arizonans that have had their say will ultimately go unheard. For this I am ashamed of who we put in office and of the state of politics that we as American citizens have allowed to develop in our nation.
Only in America......can someone come here and expect us to follow their beliefs....and the sad thing is: WE DO. I would have liked to see how far the cabbie would get if it were any decade in the US before the 60's. Here is how far he would get: quickly out of busines and quickly escorted to the border...later tater, lol.
We as Americans have become far too pacifistic in our nature. We have literally become a liberal society and are not aware of it. We look at politics and norms of decades past and we say they were barbaric....our parents were barbaric. But that was considered conservative.
I am totally shocked and surprised that our liberal society, and the rules/laws that follow, have not made it necessary that I be forced to move out of my home so that it can be occupied by a family of illegal border emtrants.
It's truly amazing how many cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV's, and Big Rigs you can squish into one of those Ferrys.
Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a young teenager. I dont know why I didnt make a career out of it. I wouldnt mind breaking into that field though now.
I spelled bike incorrectly above. I guess thats ok because I was a math teacher, not an English teacher :)
My bike is not one of those huge 1800 and larger sized bikes; it is a 750, but it rides great and is just perfect for me around town. In a couple of years I want to get an additional bije, either a 1300 or 1800; Honda of course, VTX series
