Vice President Walter F. Mondale and his wife, Joan, were in Tucson on June 19, 1977, to attend a fundraising event for then-Rep. Morris K. Udall, D-Ariz. Three hundred guests paid $50 each to hear speeches, sip champagne and munch on cold cuts at the Temple of Music and Art. Across the street, miners were picketing a Udall-sponsored bill on mining. It was 102 degrees that day, and everyone standing in the sun was sweating. Everyone, that is, except the Secret Service. According to one reporter on the scene, agents don't perspire. How many Secret Service agents can you spot? Photo by SCOTT BRAUCHER / ARIZONA DAILY STAR 1977.
