DAVID SANDERS / ARIZONA DAILY STAR 1988 A regular in the Tucson Rodeo Parade for many years, trick roper Montie Montana would often entertain at local events while he was in town. On Feb. 22, 1988, he stopped off at Blenman Elementary School to put on a demonstration for the students. As shown here, he and his horse, Rex, lassoed a herd of children during their stop at the school. They were in good company, though: Montana reportedly roped President Dwight D. Eisenhower during Ike's inaugural parade. Montana died in 1998.
