Royal Automotive Group of Tucson has a new Buick franchise at the Tucson Auto Mall and is buying Don Mackey's Cadillac and GMC dealerships there, wrapping up part of the local confusion left by General Motors' bankruptcy.

One of the best places in the southwest to purchase a new/used car is Royal Buick. You are treated with honest courteous service no matter what car is chosen. Anyone interested in a new or used car should at least go in and talk with a Royal salesman. You'll see what I mean. Same with service.

I save money by buying out of state or from a broker. I refuse to give the city of Tucson one cent of tax money. I save $600 to $800 in city sales tax every time I buy a car.

Mackey's service department manager and personnel really knew how to take care of their customers after the sale. Service after the sale is dead in most auto dealerships. Hopefully Royal can live up to the standard they set.

I agree, the best and nicest service people in town, Always a cheery hello from the operator to the last person who hands you the keys for the trip home.

Lets stop and think about how this all went down. Don Mackey gets all of his franchice agreements cancelled, Crusader Giffords goes to Washington D.C. and saves Mackey's Cadillac franchise using jobs as the basis of her arguement, and finally Royal buys Cadillac franchise from Mackey.
So who's job did she save? What she did was put money in Don Mackey's Pocket. Good for him, any good businessman would have done the same. As for Giffords she must feel pretty stupid right about now. This entire situation stinks and our naive public official enabled this to happen.
Just a thought, because the argument for restoring Mackey's Cadillac franchise was based heavily on saving people's jobs, I would hope that any monies gained would go to those people who will no lomger be employed at the dealership.

This whole thing doesn't make sense. Just like the bailout didn't make sense. So GM cancels/closes a dealership and gives a "new" one to the same outfit, just in a different location. I think the whole thing is/was a farce and a scam. And now we the people own a big chunk of GM, without any dividends of course.........

Until the stench of allowing the government into their business is gone I will steer clear of GM and Chrysler.
Clearly, a Ford or a foreign vehicle is best right now.
