FORT HOOD, Texas — Sketching out lives that ended too soon, President Obama remembered those slain at Fort Hood as husbands and fathers, immigrants and scholars, optimists and patriots — an expectant mother, a granddaughter of veterans, a music teacher.

heaven forbid this infantile president should actually summon up a gram of intestinal fortitude to condemn radical (which is most of) islam, since he won't use the word terrorism either. at least the last president vowed revenge when islamic terrorists attacked on US soil. this current president will do nothing.

Why attack the poster?
#2 how do you know #1 was "listening to the radio last night" unless you were also listening to the radio last night?
I listened to Obama's speech where Obama tried every little trick in the book to not make the Muslim connection to this terrorist attack for some strange reason I can't fathom

It is indeed sad that the three writers above cannot give the president any recognition for the wonderful, touching speech he gave at a most difficult time for thousands and for himself too. Let's just quit politics for a change but that is too much for many who want to do nothing but criticize.
At his blog today, Andrew Bostom, a scholar of jihadism, cites the following passage from "Reliance of the Traveler," a widely distributed manual of Islamic law produced by al-Azhar University in Egypt, the most authoritative interpreters of theology and sharia jurisprudence in Sunni Islam, the dominant tradition among the world's Muslims:
""Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and, is etymologically derived from the word, mujahada, signifying warfare to establish the religion [of Islam]…The scriptural basis for jihad is such Koranic verses as “Fighting is prescribed for you” (Koran 2:216); “Slay them wherever you find them” (Koran 4:89); “Fight the idolators utterly” (Koran 9:36); and such hadiths [sayings of the Prophet] as the one related by (Sahih) Bukhari and (Sahih) Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: “I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat. If they say it, they have saved their blood and possessions from me, except for the rights of Islam over them. And the final reckoning is with Allah”; and the hadith by (Sahih) Muslim, “To go forth in the morning or evening to fight in the path of Allah is better than the whole world and everything in it.”"

I will commend and congratulate the president, though, for not accusing the heroic lady cop, Sgt. Kimberly Munley, of "acting stupidly" when she took the extreme action of jumping to a conclusion and shooting the shrink, thus ending his own jihad against his fellow American soldiers.

Well, Skip said that our liberties were being dismantled on a daily basis, and I am saying that I have not lost any liberties. I (and you and Skip) can still post here , we can voice our opionions, carry our guns, carry signs that say vile things about our President, and yet we have no freedom?
I beg to differ. And you can shout marxism, socialism, communism, we have a long way to go till then. But, hey, maybe Mcarthyism will ring a bell?

"But this much we do know: No faith justifies these murderous and craven acts."
This statement is much in dispute by those who have studied the subject, such as Andrew Bostom as cited below.

Nice but typical liberal diversionary tactic, #4, get emotional, cry foul, then change the subject.
Well, wonderful, touching speeches do not prevent those Muslim terrorists from killing Americans, DON'T YOU GET IT???

"Obama spoke of the tranquillity (sic) and liberty enjoyed by most Americans"
AMAZING, coming out of the mouth of the man who is methodically attacking and dismantling our liberties on a daily basis.

I'm trying to think of liberties I've lost lately, but nothing is coming to mind.....

The fact that he has surrounded himself with Marxists doesn't bother you?
Marxism isn't exactly compatable with liberty!
