I'm sure that if this happened ,these employers would start to be a bit more careful who they hire.

The right thing to do here would be to allow a lawsuit against the employer.
Most will argue that if the injured party wasn’t here illegally, he wouldn't have been injured. A better argument can be made that if the employer had not hired the illegal, he neither would have been here nor would he have been injured.
But of course since our government can't find the fortitude to enforce the existing law against hiring illegals in the first place it is unlikely that it will pass any law that allows suits against the employer.
Regardless, these injured people should not be a drain on the American taxpayer (other than the people who hire them).

There is a deeper cause here illegal immigration and all the problems it is causing America. It is that business interests are allowed to buy politicians trough lobbyists.
The government has decided to not make a good faith effort to enforce immigration labor laws because the money they receive from business interests. Illegally cheap labor is good for businesses bottom line, but horrible for the rest of us American citizens that have to foot the bill for all the problems caused by illegal immigration.

Some things are a little twisted here. He did recieve Emer. medical care. That's right by law they have to help everyone even those that are poor. He didn't have insurance for further care. If anyone doesn't that also don't get more care. That's normal. He's not a citizen, and came here illegally. So does that mean I'm to feel more sorry for him, and his family in another Country? We have an old saying, and it goes "you make your bed and have to sleep on it" It's a fact of life. As for me feeling sorry for him I do, but there is even a older saying that goes. "Charity begins at home". That means in this contex my Country comes first. When each uninsured person here has health insurance I will think about helping those in or from another Country. If he or others don't like this I'm sure if they call INS they can get a free ride to their own Country. Besides this should have never happened in the first place. By law he should never have found work here. By simply calling INS or SSI they could have found out if he was a citizen or not. Hiring a illegal is against the law so the place that hired him should not only be fined, but should be made to pay for his care. That includes the Emer. Medical care he recieved. Then they should be made to pay INS their cost in picking him up to be returned to his Country. Then they should have to pay the fines to IRS as they helped him make a false report to them. Perhaps if they are made to pay they won't hire more of them, and make sure their legal employees have insurance or cover them their selfs. Of course that would mean all illegals would not be able to find jobs here, but that is why we also have a guest worker program for those from another Country to work here. Still I'm sure there are a lot of homeless citizens here that would love to have the chance to work. Where is the story about how they are getting screwed by illegals taking jobs? How about one to go along with it on how the Government allows this to happen in the first place?

Face it Harry, Republicans control the Whitehouse, Senate and Congress. The Republicans don’t want to stop illegal immigration because that would mean no cheap labor force for big business. It will also cause the minimum wage to rise which we know Republicans do not want to happen.
The companies, employers who employ and benefit from illegal immigration are huge contributors to the national and local Republican Party. SABA (Southern Arizona Home Builders Association) is one example locally. Illegal workers are a majority in the fields of roofers, carpenters and concrete finishers. When the illegals marched in Phoenix earlier this year on a Monday almost all concrete ouring work in the city ground to a halt because of this.
Force your Repulicans to enforce EXISTING laws and prosecute the employers and put a few out of business and you will set a zero tolerance atmosphere where a contractor wont take the chance of losing his business, home and or going to jail to save a few dollars employing illegals.

The only thing that makes any sense here is making the businesses pay for employees hurt on the job that are NOT covered by Unemployment Insurance and Workman's Comp. I don't mean make them sue either. That process is too costly for taxpayers AND it takes too long. What I mean is pass a law that makes it clear that businesses hire illegal labor at their own risk and it's coming out of the pocket of the business if one of them get hurt. Then you will begin to see the job opportunities that entice illegals dry up like yesterdays laundry.
How Un-Republican of me. But that doesn't make me I "libby", though, either since I'm not advocating gov't handouts. I'm just saying that it IS someones responsibility. American Taxpayers Being Forced To Support Latino Nazi Party
By Dave Gibson on Sep 17, 2006
In 2005, the Latino group known as La Raza (The Race) was given $15.2 million in U.S. federal grants. La Raza also received an additional $4 million in so-called ‘earmarks’ tucked into the 2005 Housing Bill, which our Congress passed and President Bush signed. Considering the racist agenda of La Raza, giving federal funds to this group is tantamount to the U.S. funding the Nazis in the 1930’s.
The comparison to the Nazi Party is well deserved. La Raza openly supports pushing all but Latino Americans out of a portion of the United States (ethnic cleansing), they call for ‘Reconquista’ or the re-conquest of the American Southwest by Mexico (the re-occupation of the Sudetanland), and the establishment of ‘Atzlan’ which is the utopian all-Latino version of the American Southwestern states (Adolf Hitler planned to called his utopia Germania).
Karl Rove was one of the keynote speakers at this year’s annual National Council of La Raza Conference. The event was held in Los Angeles (the eventual capital of Atzlan). Other speakers included Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, and the virulent racist L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The fact that Karl Rove is the President’s top political adviser and addressed the group with Bush’s blessing, is a strong indicator that this nation is being subverted at the very highest levels.
If La Raza was a white supremacist group with equally deep pockets, the U.S. government would place them on a terrorist watch list, infiltrate them with undercover FBI agents, and subject them to constant harassment by the Internal Revenue Service. Eventually, the group’s leaders would be jailed and the group itself would be rendered irrelevant. However, because La Raza is a Latino supremacist group, the Bush administration and most of Congress offer them financial support!
One of La Raza’s biggest supporters is Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV). In 2001, Reid asked the Senate Appropriations Committee for $5 million to help further the racist goals of that organization. That same year, La Raza gave Sen. Reid their Capital Award for “his commitment to advance legislation priorities of the Latino community.” Reid in turn praised La Raza by saying: “La Raza is like the biblical David, fighting all these Goliaths.”
Taxpayer funds are also funneled to La Raza through the Department of Health and Human Services, The Environmental Protection Agency, and even NASA. Tax dollars are hidden in these government agencies, earmarked to be specifically given away to La Raza. Inside the halls of Congress, the practice is known as discretionary funding...In the real world it is known as money laundering!
In 2005, $7.9 million was stolen from the American taxpayers and given out to Latino-only charter schools in the form of U.S. Department of Education grants. The following is a list of a few of those schools:
-La Academia Semillas del Pueblo (Los Angeles)
-Atzlan Academy (Tucson, AZ)
-Mexicayotl Academy (Nogales, AZ)
-The Dolores Huerta Prepatory High School (Pueblo, CO)
-Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School (St. Paul, MN)
These schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the reconquest of the American Southwest, ethnic cleansing and the establishment of the mythical Atzlan, and even Aztec math!...Again, all taught on your dime!
According to the Capital Research Center, La Raza has assets well in excess of $50 million. This same group reports that La Raza spends about $1 million annually on lobbying and fundraising.

No matter what the Pres. wants or says Congress can make them uphold the laws. But right now they are ready to pass more laws making those unenforcable once again. The last thing we need is more laws over riding the laws passed, and on the books.

Regarding Native girl E's comment, "... pass a law that makes it clear that businesses hire illegal labor at their own risk and it's coming out of the pocket of the business if one of them get hurt. Then you will begin to see the job opportunities that entice illegals dry up like yesterdays laundry." There IS a law, but it is not being enforced.
I agree with you, that if enforcement were applied, the lure to commit illegal behavior will be severely decreased. Along with that benefit is another - the companies who continue to hire illegals for dangerous jobs might reconsider the application of stringent safety rules and procedures without the need for OSHA pressure - their profit margin might be the best incentive to make a safer work environment.
Granted, accidents happen. But there is little, if any, enforcement of common sense safety procedures in many of these illegal-driven industrial markets. The legal-minded companies are protecting not only their workers, but themselves from OSHA inspection and penalties. The illegals are not going to rat out their monetary "lifeline" at the risk of deportation; and the companies who hire them know this. Why pay for a department of safety regulation and enforcement who really protect ALL their workers, when they needn't worry about repercussion?
Go for the deep pockets, and the problems will surely decrease.

I like the idea of charging the employer for the costs, but the employers would just get around that by dumping their injured at the nearest hospital and driving off. The hospitals will still be out the money.. .I really doubt any outfit who hires illegals - to save money - is going to be responsible enough to call an ambulance to the work site, admit their illegal practices, and take full financial responsibility. ..

But when the injured illegal is dumped at the hospital, unless they are entirely unable to communicate they will surely realize that they are being given ONLY life-sustaining treatment, then will be thrown out on the street, possibly deported, and the companies that are complicit in their injury are getting off "scott free." That would make me talk up a storm!

We have a National ID card system at this time. It's called your Social Security Number. It's easy for them to check to see who it belongs to, and where that person is working now. You find one in Florida that belongs to a 80 year old female in Washington State they check it. Same if the person is listed as dead. It's a no brainer, and it is used by some employers now.

Little native girl above has some valid points.
However, consider another approach to the problem. - EDUCATION.
The place to STOP the flow of illegals is not AT the Border - it needs to stop long before they even GET to the Border. Since just about every Church in America is already sending Missionaries and Youth Groups to the small, remote and impoverished villages in Mexico, along with building homes and hospitals for the Mexican people, they ALSO need to be constructing HUGE signs and billboards with the information:
WHEN YOU ARE SMUGGLED INTO AMERICA WHEN YOU ARE WORKING THE DANGEROUS JOBS WHEN YOU ARE INJURED OR DISMEMBERED YOU WILL RECEIVE NOMEDICAL CARE THE FAMILY YOU LEAVE BEHIND WILL STARVE YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO CARE FOR THEM PLEASE DO NOT DIE IN THE DESERT HEAT PLEASE STAY HOME AND CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS INTO AMERICA
DO NOT ABANDON YOUR LOVED ONES AT HOME
signed FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS IN AMERICA
A sign like that in every town in Mexico, along with newspaper clipping like the one we are posting to could possibly do a LOT more good both saving lives and money in the long run.
Oh - and maybe a smaller sign AT the Border:
COYOTES and DRUG SMUGGLERS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT!
(sorry for the reference to coyotes - I mean the two-legged kind. The four-legged animals are actually beneficial to the desert, as their prey is the prarie dog, which, if a horse steps into a prarie dog hole will break it's leg.)

(I don't seem to be able to shut up about this). If Worker's Comp can (did) change their rules regarding their liability, i.e. not being liable if the worker has drugs in his system, then they can change their rules and state that they won't be liable for illegal workers. Laws can also be changed to make hiring an illegal entrant a felony with required jail time. I don't want to hear about how the employers were fooled by a false ID and SS card. This Country has a lottery system with tens of thousands of machines - that are so reliable they can identify a counterfeit in seconds. Those machines cannot be THAT expensive, and could certainly be modified to check ID and SS numbers, and even count votes, for that matter.
It's a sorry state of affairs when a lotto company has better security, reliability, and speed than the USA. Yes, I know, it might require that Americans obtain a new type of ID, and some will squall. I'm sure there was some squalling done when SS numbers were first handed out. ..

You know, the one where the two border patrol agents are each facing twenty years because they shot an illegal in the a$$. The illegal had $650,000 worth of drugs that he was trying to smuggle into the country. He was given immunity for his charges in exchange for testifying against the two border patrol agents. Local MEChA chapter defends Bustamante
By Laura McGann
Published on Monday, October 6, 2003
"While conservative commentators recently pressured California gubernatorial candidate Cruz Bustamante to distance himself from the Chicano advocacy group Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or MEChA, the head of the organization's Dartmouth chapter supported Bustamante's stance and defended the aims and purpose of the group.
MEChA, a student group created to increase the number of Chicanos entering college in the United States, has been called racist and violently radical. Bustamante, who joined MEChA while in college, defended the organization as a peaceful advocacy group dedicated to providing educational opportunities in comments he made in August."

Here is some additional information regarding the video above (it is also on the site, but I was not sure if you caught it)....
About The Video
I shot all of video images at LA Gran Marcha (3-25-06).
Professor Armando Navarro is heard on the Aztlan video. He was the organizer of the 1995 UC Riverside Prop 187 forum where many of the voices were recorded. He was also the organizer for the recent San Bernardino forum on Jan. 12th, 2006. That is also where I recorded Herman Baca.
Fabian Nunez and numerous other Latino leaders spoke at the LA Gran Marcha but they only spoke Spanish. Antonio Villaraigosa spoke English and he said many seditious things, like always, but I did not get a good audio recording of him. That?s why I used the older clip. I haven?t had my Gran Marcha tapes translated.
The recording of Joe Baca is the only clip that I cannot place. However, it is his voice. I recorded him at the Jan 12th 2006 San Bernardino Latino Forum. Unfortunately he didn?t say anything very juicy.
The voices on The Nation of Aztlan video are as follows:
Armando Navarro - Jan. 12th, 2006 San Bernardino Latino Forum
Joe Baca - ???

Some have suggested that Jose Angel Gutierrez is not a faculty member of the University of Texas, Arlington because they cannot find his name listed in their directory. He is in fact a tenured Professor of Political Science. Maybe they are embarrased to list him? You can reach the University at 817-272-2222 or you can call Jose directly at 817-272-3991

"if you punish the employers of illegals and make it costly for them in fines, etc. they may quit hiring them and then maybe it will help stop illegal immigration."
We are very much aware of this. The problem is that nobody wants to enforce our current laws. The Republicans as well as the Democrats have numerous problems. However, the MAJORITY of Democrats want to give the millions of illegal invaders already here amnesty/citizenship.

here's a great opportunity to give companies motivation to police themselves and enforce the law. If an illegal gets hurt on the job, make the employer pay the full medical bill out of its own pocket - can't use insurance. And then have the employer pay to ship the illegal back to wherever.

On second thought, maybe it would be better if Steve Leal bought every illegal a video camera. The illegal could then actually video tape their being illegally hired. That way if they get injured on the job they can take the video to the ACLU and sue the employer! Thanks God we have fiscally responsible city Council Members like Steve Leal!

The Tucson Weekly indirectly and sometimes directly supports illegal immigration with everything they do especially the candidates they support.
We should write to the advertisers of the Tucson Weekly and let them know we will boycott their business if they continue to advertise with the Tucson Weekly.

#40 Comment by Eve H. — "There IS a law, but it is not being enforced." If there is a law that employers should take all the financial responsibility when an undocumented worker is hurt on the job, then I was unaware of it. I was under the impression that they were already just being dumped on our medical system. But I agree with you that if we make their ability to receive treatment conditional on the undocumented worker telling someone where they got hurt, or else they would just get a quick patch job and then be quickly deported, they would talk!
There is a problem that I see with my idea ... Businesses can get really shady sometimes when you're talking about them losing lots of money. We might just begin finding massive graves out in the desert or under buildings ... But there needs to be a serious effort to hold the businesses accountable AND make them aware that hiring illegals is no longer a lucrative practice. Then they would just quit hiring them and this would cease to be an issue.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Iran's president praised Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez for his firm opposition to the United States on Sunday, promising to deepen an alliance that is helping Tehran fight U.S. moves to rein in its nuclear program.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Chavez "my brother" and "the champion of the struggle against imperialism."
The two leaders met as both were preparing to travel to New York for this week's U.N. General Assembly.
"We have thoughts, objectives and interests in common," Ahmadinejad said. "We must be united to be able to make these ideas reality with the aim of achieving justice and peace."
He has all ready bought weapons from Russia, and is trying to gain support from Countries in South America to attack us.
Just a question on this. If our Government keeps their stand on our borders to include our coast lines. How hard will it be for them to invade the U.S.?

I have read articles about Chavez and Castro helping with the illegal invasion. They supposedly are helping illegals to get fraudulent documents. Also, they are supposedly helping terrorists to get fraudulent documents to get into our country as well. However, some people still do not believe this. You wonder what it will take for them to wake up.
I also saw a show on the Discovery Channel about 2 months ago about the US during the time of Khadafi. There was a small gang in Chicago that was dealing drugs. The FBI started to wiretap calls of gang prisoners in order to find out about the drug dealings. While doing so, they found out that Khadafi had contacted the gang and offered them a large amount of money to perform terrorist acts in the US. The FBI stepped in and arrested everyone once the gang members got their hands on surface to air missiles.
My point being....People still do not believe that MS-13 gang bangers, LA RAZA, Mecha, etc...are in contact and connected with radical Muslim terrorists. They have been helped into our country through Mexico. They are currently in hiding and organizing/planning their attack. As soon as they are given the word, we will all be aware that they are here.

In addition, you can guarantee that if the millions of illegals are not given amnesty/citizenship, and the US becomes serious about closing borders--the methods of La Raza, Mecha, Brown Berets, etc., will turn to resistance/violence. They will begin to assist terrorists even more.
Our military should be here, on our borders, because the $hit is going to hit the fan in our own backyard. That a$$ in our White House has left us a vulnerable and easy target through our borders. If this was the time of our forefathers, he would have been hung.

No Jobs = No reason to Illegaly immigrate.

Essentially, the answer is yes. By providing jobs to illegals, the employers are asking them to come.

WE can't just send undocumented workers home missing limbs that they had when they got here and still bleeding! So put the responsibility where it really belongs. And, in that way, we'll kill two birds with the same pellets.

This same group reports that La Raza spends about $1 million annually on lobbying and fundraising.

native girl E. Dine? There are laws on the books right now in fining or closing places that hire them. These are Federal Laws that are bing bypassed, and not enforced at this time.

The hospitals will still be out the money.. .I really doubt any outfit who hires illegals - to save money - is going to be responsible enough to call an ambulance to the work site, admit their illegal practices, and take full financial responsibility. ..
But when the injured illegal is dumped at the hospital, unless they are entirely unable to communicate they will surely realize that they are being given ONLY life-sustaining treatment, then will be thrown out on the street, possibly deported, and the companies that are complicit in their injury are getting off "scott free." By taking the INS out of the Dept. of Homeland Defense they can once again go after illegals in this Country. There Mission now is Terrorist, and illegals come in somewhere down the road.

WHEN YOU ARE SMUGGLED INTO AMERICA
WHEN YOU ARE WORKING THE DANGEROUS JOBS
WHEN YOU ARE INJURED OR DISMEMBERED
YOU WILL RECEIVE NO MEDICAL CARE
THE FAMILY YOU LEAVE BEHIND WILL STARVE
YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO CARE FOR THEM
PLEASE DO NOT DIE IN THE DESERT HEAT
PLEASE STAY HOME AND CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS INTO AMERICA
DO NOT ABANDON YOUR LOVED ONES AT HOME
signed
FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS IN AMERICA

I'm sure there was some squalling done when SS numbers were first handed out. ..

Yes, and he is the same anchor baby involved in the case against the two border patrol agents. You know, the one where the two border patrol agents are each facing twenty years because they shot an illegal in the a$$. The illegal had $650,000 worth of drugs that he was trying to smuggle into the country. He was given immunity for his charges in exchange for testifying against the two border patrol agents. The border patrol agents said that they were shot at first and then fired at the illegal as he was trying to make it back across the border to Mexico. They are trying to say that he had $650,000 worth of drugs but no weapon--yeah, right. It seems to me that someone on the inside was also going to be making some money from the drugs, and they are pi$$ed. Unbelievable, isn't it? Lou Dobbs reports about this case almost daily and has a link on his site asking for donations to assist the two border patrol agents with legal fees. Here is a copy of the anchor baby's report regarding the border patrol agents:

From the first url you provided: When originally confronted about his membership in August, Bustamante addressed the issue by saying that he joined the organization while at the California State University, Fresno in the 70s, as a way of becoming involved in campus life. He also dismissed accusations that the group is radical.
"The students who are in MEChA today are just like the students when I was there, pretty much they are trying to get an education," Bustamante said at a press conference on August 30.

Some have suggested that Jose Angel Gutierrez is not a faculty member of the University of Texas, Arlington because they cannot find his name listed in their directory. He is in fact a tenured Professor of Political Science. Maybe they are embarrased to list him? You can reach the University at 817-272-2222 or you can call Jose directly at 817-272-3991

here's a great opportunity to give companies motivation to police themselves and enforce the law. If an illegal gets hurt on the job, make the employer pay the full medical bill out of its own pocket - can't use insurance. And then have the employer pay to ship the illegal back to wherever.

If there is a law that employers should take all the financial responsibility when an undocumented worker is hurt on the job, then I was unaware of it.
