First things first… yesterday’s race. Jimmie Johnson once again showed how awesome he is. Chad Knaus once again showed he knows the magic words to tell a crew after they mess up to get them back on track.
Practically everybody wrecked.
Mark Martin had another strong finish and keeps everyone asking “Will he or won’t he” in regards to him running the full season.
Raise your hand if you want the Roger Clemens of NASCAR to just go away already.
What? It’s just me?
Oh yeah, and Jeff Gordon finished second. Pretty good day for me!
It was the 150th victory for Hendrick Motorsports and, by the way, 75 of those belong to Mr. Gordon. In your eye, Jimmie! (Just kidding. I love them both.)

I just read a story on FoxSports.com that NASCAR is considering changing the Nextel Cup Series to the Sprint Cup Series (not to be confused with Sprint cars) next year.
When Nextel and Sprint merged in 2005 we kind of all knew it was coming. Since the Cup series had just been renamed after a gazillion years of being the Winston Cup Series I’m sure they thought they should wait a while before annoying fans with another name change.
Well, time’s up!
I can only hope this means all the idiot announcers – Bill Weber in particular – will start referring to Jeff Gordon as a four-time Sprint Cup champion or, my favorite, Richard Petty as a seven-time Sprint Cup champion.
[End sarcasm]
Is it too much to ask them to just call them Cup champions if you can’t say Winston?
Any Formula One fans out there?
Season starts this weekend and SpeedTV.com has a nice driver by driver preview. Click here.
After reading it this is my summary:
Fernando Alonso is still awesome.
Yeah, Michael’s gone but sorry Ralf, Germans still don’t like you.
Scott Speed doesn’t have a chance.
Number one guy at Ferrari might just be Felipe Massa and not Kimi Raikkonen.
It ain’t happening this year for Jenson Button either.
You hear that loud ticking? It’s time winding down on David Coulthard’s career.
That’s all you really need to know. And that the race is Saturday at 7:30 Pacific time which we here in Arizona are now on because, like I’ve said before, we spit in the face of dayling-saving time.
I hate the efffing time change! That said, I think Alonso will be awesome again. Looking forward to F1. God Bless, Mike.
