That darn Section 12-4-A rule

Now we all knew that Carl Edwards’ and Kyle Busch’s actions at the end of the Bristol race on Saturday night were going to be deemed “detrimental to stock car racing” and we were right!

Today, they were placed on probation because “both violated Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing; hitting another competitor’s car after the race had concluded) of the 2008 NASCAR rule book.”

That’ll show ‘em.

That Section 12-4-A really is my favorite. NASCAR sure likes to throw it around a lot.

Hit another driver’s car on purpose – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

Car too high – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

Car too low – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

Use equipment not within NASCAR’s rules – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

Say a bad, dirty word – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

Physical altercation – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

Admit that you watch “The Hills” – actions detrimental to stock car racing.

OK, I made the last one up but they should think about adding it to the 2009 rule book.

  1. Detrimental to stock car racing, that’s funny. That kind of racing is all that makes NASCAR entertaining.
