When you're a reporter digging deep, you turn up a lot of dirt. But that doesn't mean you can put all the good dirt in the story.
I've found myself with a lot of extra, good dirt in my new role as senior reporter (hence, Señor Reporter), writing primarily for the Arizona Daily Star's Sunday paper.
Check in often, and let's see what we can turn up.
Laine Lawless led this 2006 flag burning outside Tucson’s Mexican consulate. Arizona Daily Star 2006.
In my conversation with Chuck Stonex Wednesday, he said that Shawna Forde called him over last winter and said that someone might be calling him to ask about Shawna. She said to go ahead and speak with that person, named…. of course …. Laine Lawless.
Lawless is the Mexican-flag-burning former Tucsonan who has set up the Web site Justiceforshawnaforde.com . As discussed in today’s story, she also was present, according to Stonex, on May 30, hours after the Arivaca murders, when Stonex treated defendant Jason Bush’s gunshot wound.
When I first heard of Lawless’ connection to Forde a few weeks ago, Stonex told me, “After all the incidences up in Washington, Shawna had made an arrangement of some sort with her (Lawless) … Laine wants to write the story on Shawna Forde.”
This was before Stonex and Lawless had their current falling out.
It has always struck me that the Justice for Shawna Forde Web site begins with this prominent phrase: “The only authorized website which speaks directly with Shawna.” Kind of strangely promotional if the Web site is principally meant to support Forde’s defense, it seems to me.
When Laine Lawless was still speaking with me a couple of weeks ago (she hung up on me yesterday), I asked her whether she is planning to write Shawna Forde’s story. She didn’t say yes or no, though she did acknowledge “I am an unpaid, mostly unpublished writer.”
When I asked, “are you expecting to write Shawna’s story?” she said, “I don’t know. If there is a story to be written, certainly it hasn’t got to the end of it.” In other words, she was saying it’s too early to write the story.
Several people have told me, and it’s been written elsewhere, that Lawless used to write erotic fiction about the TV character Xena. But so far I can’t find it. Maybe you can help. Laine would only acknowledge to me that she has been a Xena fan.
Considering that Laine is a bull dike, she probably has fantasies about Xena and the best she can do is to write erotic stories about them. Gabrella was a real cutie too. Yup sure! She was always my choice. Xena would of probably hurt me. lol
An excellent last sentence to the book would be, “Then Shawna’s pupils rolled up and teared as the effects of the executioner’s lethal injection extinguished her pitiful life.”
Laine Lawless, was endeavoring to negotiate a “Book Deal”, with Shawna all the way up to 45 minutes prior to Shawna’s arrest just down the road from Glenn Spencer’s Ranch. That is the tip of the iceberg you might say, in reference to Ms. Lawless’ efforts to profit financially from her co-dependant relationship with Shawna. In fact, based on my extensive experience with law-enforcement, I will be very surprised if Ms. Lawless isn’t charged with one or more crimes related to her strivings to be “Shawna’s Go-To Girl.
Another crazy friend of Shawna’s. They just seem to be popping out of the woodwork, like cockroaches.

Shawna’s story is already written. The only thing it needs is someone with talent to arrange the words into the proper order.
