Caliente Contest
This week's Spotlight focuses on the Austin, Texas-based rock band White Denim, which is scheduled to play Club Congress Saturday.
White Denim's lead singer is James Petralli, whose father is former major league catcher Geno Petralli.
Geno Petralli played 12 seasons for the Rangers and Blue Jays.
Petralli led all of baseball in passed balls with 35 in 1987, 20 in 1988, and 20 in 1990. His 35 passed balls established a Major League single-season record.
Most of Petralli's past balls occurred when he was catching a famous knuckleball pitcher.
For a chance to win an audio book tell us the name of that knuckleballer, who pitched until he was 46 years old.

Deadwood: Ellsworth bites the bullet
08/22/2006 08:31 AM Gerald Gay
Rest in Peace Mr. Ellsworth.
The kindhearted miner took a bullet to the head on the HBO series “Deadwood” Sunday night marking the first major loss for Team Swearengen in the battle between good and evil.
And while George Hearst paid the price for ordering the hit, albeit a small one bestowed upon him by the foulmouthed Trixie in the form of a bullet to the shoulder, it still hurts (just a little) to see one of the program’s longest running characters go down.
Ellsworth’s role on the show was sparse in that first season but “Deadwood” fans experienced more of the character, his flaws and generosity, when he signed on to be pain-in-the-butt Alma Garrett’s faux-husband late in season 2.
It would have been nice to see him unleash his temper on the Pinkertons in the season (and series?) finale show down next Sunday night.
But unless Doc Cochran has a way to raise the dead, we will have to settle for Swearengen, Sheriff Bullock, Charlie Utter, Sol Star and the rest of the true townies kicking some Hearst-driven behinds when the time comes.
Official prediction: Wu to the rescue! The showdown between the Pinkertons and townsfolk will end abruptly when Wu brings his men to town, providing Pinkerton meat for the hogs for months to come.
Alma Garrett Ellsworth is hardly a pain-in-the-butt. The woman has shown extraordinary courage in the face of piling adversity since S1 and has grown to face her responsibilities admirably.
She was being punished for being a woman ahead of her times back then and continues to be even now more than a century ahead of her times.
It’s sad how some things never change.
