Aftermath of All-American Bowl

A whole lot was made about the refusal of Adam Hall to name a final suitor during his “announcement ceremony” in the first quarter of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. I don’t have to tell you all, not a whole lot of it was positive.

A lot of primadonna speak and some “me first” comments, however, Hall did much the same as Corey Adams, the highly touted defensive lineman from Saguaro High School.

Adams was reportedly approached by ESPN.com and pressured in to telling them who his final decision was going to be. Adams balked and decided to not even attempt to announce his decision on ESPN’s Under Armour game.

Now, CNNSI.com has a short interview with Hall, where he explains his decision making.

Hall expressed frustration with game organizers, who he said pushed undecided players hard all week to announce their commitments during the broadcast.

Check out the story, it is an interesting read. It might even change the minds of a few people who had some not-so-savory things to say about the attitude of Hall. If nothing else, it shines a light on the other side of the pageantry of All-Star games where players make their decisions.

I also just wanted to say a big “Thank You” to everyone who followed and commented on the All-American Bowl thread. With over 3,200 hits, it was the most visited day during my time on Recruiting Roundup. Soooo.. Thanks!

  1. Corey Adams coach Sanders said, Corey is a character guy and a quality individual because he refused to make a decision even though he would have been on ESPN.

Adam Hall was pushed to make a decision. The thing to do is what Adam did, just not go on TV if you don’t have a decision.

  2. It is kind of goofy that they even had him go on TV only not to announce. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that move was all about ESPN.

  3. Kennard is making an unofficial visit to ASU this weekend. Burfict also is coming out this weekend or next weekend.

Adam Hall is canceling his visit to USC (grandfather died), but still going to visit Oregon.

Ohio state is keeping a scholi for Corey Adams into the late signing period according to Tressel.

  4. Bret, of course it was all about ESPN, not the players.
Eric, according to Scout.com UA is still in on quite a few recruits although none with more than medium interest. Anything new or do we just wait for Signing day?

  6. Rumor is Vontaze Burficts mom, wants him to go to ASU, seems like he is taking online classes and making up classes. They were at the ASU-OSU basketball game. Burfict says he still has USC in the lead, I say he will end up at USC.

Corey Adams has dropped USC off his list. It down to ASU and Ohio State.

Right now UofA and ASU classes are very average, lets hope by Feb 4th they pull in some good players.
