A young woman who asked to use a phone Monday took off with it, prompting a theft investigation in Sierra Vista.

The incident occurred Monday just before 9:30 p.m. at the Bel Aire Mobile Home Park when a young woman came to the door and asked to use the phone, a Sierra Vista Police Department briefing said. She then ran off with the phone.

The thief was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said. She was last seen heading east.
