A home invasion in Sahuarita Thursday morning may have been a case of the intruders going to the wrong residence, police said.
The woman who was home alone was not injured in the incident, which occurred around 9:15 a.m., but she was shaken, said Officer Sam Almodova, a spokesman for the Sahuarita Police Department.
The investigation into the incident revealed that three armed men who wore hooded sweatshirts and bandannas to cover their faces apparently forced their way into the mobile home in the 17200 block of South La Villita Road.
The men were demanding access to a safe and money but the woman had no idea what was going on because she doesn’t own a safe, Almodova said. She did not recognize the gunmen.
The incident does not appear to be drug related, Almodova said. A motive had not been determined Thursday afternoon.
The intruders left in a vehicle but no description was available, he said. They did not take anything from the home.
One of the men was wearing a black shirt, jean shorts and black shoes.
