Tucson police are searching for an armed robber who burst into a Midtown credit union Thursday morning and ordered people to the ground before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, an official said.

A teller at the Arizona Federal Credit Union, 2900 E. Broadway, which is just west of Reid Park, hit the silent alarm at 9:35 a.m. after the robber entered the building, said Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a Tucson Police Department spokesman. When police arrived people were running out of the credit union yelling there had been a robbery, he said.

A man, about 6-feet-tall, weighing 180 pounds, wearing a mask, a dark jacket and dark jeans left the bank on foot and went south between the bank and a business located west of it. The robber was armed with a large-caliber, silver handgun, Pacheco said.

No injuries had been reported in the robbery and as of Thursday afternoon the robber was still on the loose, Pacheco said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line of the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

Tucson police released the following surveillance photos from the robbery:
