Seven illegal immigrants were detained Monday after Cochise County deputies found them in a pickup truck, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies noticed the blue pickup truck traveling north on Jacobs Road in Benson and, after requesting information, found that the license plate expired in June.

When the deputies stopped the truck, the driver and front passenger got out and fled the scene.

The truck and the immigrants were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
