Two women were arrested Tuesday after authorities seized 3 grams of methamphetamine from a Sierra Vista apartment.

Officers went to the Mountain View Apartments to investigate narcotic sales in the area, according to a news release from the Sierra Vista Police Department.

While there, a drug-sniffing dog alerted to the odor of narcotics and a search warrant was obtained, the release said.

Robin Torres, 39, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 25-year-old woman, Tamara Austin, was also arrested on suspicion of providing false information to law enforcement because she lied about her name, police said.

Torres was booked into the Cochise County jail and is being held on $50,000 bond, the release said. Austin is being held on $6,000 bond.

Torres lived in the apartment.
