This afternoon Tucson police released the jail booking mug shot of Rickey F. Russell, suspected in last week’s machete attack on two teen girls, as well as two unrelated attacks Saturday.

Rickey F. Russell, 26

Russell was captured after police say he attempted to rob one person and carjack another at two gas stations Saturday evening.

Russell was identified after one victim recorded the license-plate number on his white Dodge Intrepid, which matched the vehicle description from the July 7 machete attack near East Grant Road and North Campbell Avenue.

Russell was booked into the Pima County jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument and one count of aggravated assault with serious physical injury for the attack on the girls. He remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
