I’m generally pleased with the Phoenix Film Critics Society results. I was pulling for a win by “The Dark Knight” of course but having my second-favorite take the top prize isn’t too bad:

I’m very glad to see In Bruges continue to win awards. It sucks that TDK lost out to Slumdog, which is probably not even in my top 10 for the year. I’m just glad that Slumdog didn’t add any other awards like cinematography or score to its list of awards-by-association. There’s no way that SM deserves another “best cinematography” award. It just wasn’t that good. Plus, no imax!
