Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson will be the new face of Chanel

Emma Watson must be pretty happy right now.
At only 18, her celebrity status has landed her a new role — the face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle. Though there has not been an official announcement yet, she reportedly signed a £3 million ($5.8 million), two-year contract and will replace actress Keira Knightley (“Bend it Like Beckham” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”).

Watson plays Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” films — the role that led her to celebrity stardom. Granger is Potter’s extremely intelligent friend and Watson seems to be pretty smart herself. Rumor has it that she plans to study philosophy at England’s prestigious Cambridge University.
