Jessica Simpson was recently photographed wearing a T-shirt with the slogan, “Real Girls Eat Meat,” written across her chest and boy did it piss off the people over at PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Here’s what one PETA blogger wrote in her “Top Five Reasons Only Stupid Girls Brag About Eating Meat” post: “For a gal who’s best known for her less-than-stellar brains (Chicken of the Sea, anyone?) and her ability to proportionately fill out daisy dukes, I’m gonna go on record saying that if anyone had to wear a ridiculous shirt like this, I’m glad it was Jessica—as people are more likely to follow the opposite of her lead … ya know, since she’s so well respected and all (yes, that was difficult to type without tossing in a hefty LOL). Maybe the meat-eaters of the world will be embarrassed to be categorized in the same field as Jessica Simpson.”
Ouch! That was harsh, PETA. I mean, feel free to chase her with a rusty pitchfork if she ever wears a T-shirt that says, “I Heart Slaughterhouses,” or “I Support Animal Abuse.” But really, if PETA supporters can wear T-shirts that say, “Kentucky Fried Cruelty,” and “Mean People Wear Fur,” why can’t Jessica wear a “Real Girls Eat Meat” T-shirt?
Of course, we could interpret Jessica’s shirt in an entirely different way, but I won’t go there
Personally, I’m not embarrassed to be categorized in the same field as Jessica Simpson. I’d turn down a salad for a bucket of KFC and one of those delicious biscuits any day.
Now, I would be embarrassed if I was a Dallas Cowboys fan like Jessica.
Speaking of the Dallas Cowboys, another explanation for Jessica’s shirt could have something to do with her boyfriend, Tony Romo. The Cowboys quarterback dated Carrie Underwood, who was named the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA, before he started dating Jessica. Is Jessica trying to burn Underwood by strategically selecting what she wears?
OK, enough reading into Jessica’s shirt now, but if she sports a trucker hat that says, “Too Talented for Idol,” it’s safe to argue she has beef with Underwood.
I think people are looking into this way too much! I live in NYC and know exactly where Jessica got that shirt from- a restaurant called Primehouse New York. Yes, it is a steakhouse and serves one of the best rib eyes in NYC. I don’t understand the fuss over it. She likes to eat meat- so do alot of other people in this country.
It’s just a shirt, why is everyone getting so worked up?
I hate when PETA gets involved in things. I love animals, which is why I hate PETA. PETA hates animals, they want all domestic animals extinct.

I don’t understand why PETA does not respect other peoples opinions. We don’t hate on all the vegetarians out there, so why do they hate on people who like to eat meat, wear fur or hunt? You don’t see meat eaters throwing boxes of tofu or soy beans at them on red carpets or elsewhere.
Just curious why non-vegetarians get such a kick out of ordering meat in front of vegetarians. Do you get the same thrill when you go out to eat with your friends who keep Kosher and you order pork? How about when you go out to eat with your Hindu friends? Sounds like someone stayed home from school on the day they taught manners and religious tolerance.
PETA is full of crap. She can wear whatever she wants, get over yourself if you’re offend. Plus, I’d much rather hear news about Jessica Simpson because she is a real person. Carrie Underwood is a fake hypocritical Barbie who needs to learn to practice what she preaches. What kind of vegetarian would model LEATHER Justin cowboy boots in a magazine add.
Eating meat does not somehow make you more ‘real’ or better than those who don’t. So why wear a t-shirt with that stupid slogan on? If it said, ‘i like meat’, fair enough. But to suggest only ‘real’ girls eat meat. pppffft.
As a proud vegetarian for the past 12 years I can honestly say that while Jessica’s shirt is stupid, PETA’s response to it is even stupider.

i love animals and i have peta shirts, but i am not a vegetarian. I would never wear animal skin or fur or anything like that.
