Clay Aiken appears on the cover of the newest issue of People magazine with his new son and the headline, “Yes, I’m gay.”
Say what? It can’t be!
No, seriously, thank you, Captain Obvious.
I’m not usually a vengeful person but last month when I wrote about Clay taking his new son home from the hospital I was attacked by the Claymates. Yes, I thought the situation surrounding the birth of his son was weird for a “straight” man. Now it all makes sense. (Read here.)
So when I saw the magazine cover I smiled and laughed a little on the inside at the crazies that loved to shout from the mountaintops, “HE’S STRAIGHT!”
It really shouldn’t matter whether or not someone is gay or straight so I hope those that wanted so badly for the world to believe Clay was straight will stick by him now that he’s come out.
He said in the interview he did it because he doesn’t want to teach his child that it’s OK to hide things and lie. Congrats to Clay on his decision.
