I-10 closures in Phoenix
Road work on Interstate 10 near Phoenix could affect some Tucsonans’ plans in Phoenix this weekend.

Eastbound I-10 closed Friday night and is scheduled to remain closed through 5 a.m. Monday between Ray Road and Loop 202. Crews will be paving the area with rubberized asphalt.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to use eastbound US 60 to southbound Loop 101 and westbound Loop 202 as an alternate.

Valencia Road paving
Paving of the final layer of rubberized asphalt on West Valencia Road from South Camino de la Tierra to South Mark Road begins Monday.

During the work, drivers will be directed through the construction area by flaggers.
The paving is expected to take about a week, and the stripes on the pavement are expected to be added about two weeks later.

I-10 widening: Tangerine to Pinal Air Park roads
The westbound I-10 Marana Road off ramp will be closed from 7:30 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Each night Monday through Thursday the left lane on east and westbound I-10 between Tangerine Road and Pinal Air Park Road will be closed. The closures are scheduled from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.

Drivers should expect lane closures on the eastbound frontage road between Marana and Tangerine Roads Monday through Saturday.

Harrison Road dedication
To celebrate the completion of the $15 million Harrison Road widening project, the city will hold a dedication ceremony Tuesday.

The event is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. in the Gridley Middle School parking lot, 350 S. Harrison Road.
