Our Road Runner traffic columnist recently wrote about personalized license plates.
I like to watch for special plates that relate to someone’s job as a way to break up my boring commute. So here’s a shout out to some drivers who make the game fun:
• IC BONZ
• AD ACES
• AV8RDAD
• PROGRFX
• SASY RN
An interesting thing happened at the gas pump this morning. I paid with a debit card, but the pump slowed down and clicked off at exactly $50, the way it does when you pay cash. (A full tank would probably have cost $55.) I asked the clerk at Hanson’s and he said that’s the limit on their credit card machines, but they are getting them raised to $75. Who’d have thought a tank would cost more than $50 someday?
Here are today’s gas prices on my Wilmot-Golf Links-Ajo-Park route:
$3.67 – Mobile at Wilmot and Broadway (up 13 percent since April 10)
$3.55 – Hanson’s at Wilmot and 22nd (up 15 percent since April 10)
$3.65 – Circle K at Craycroft and Golf Links (up 16 percent since April 10)
$3.65 – Circle K at Palo Verde and Ajo (up 16 percent since April 10)
$3.73 – Circle K at Country Club and Ajo (up 18 percent since April 10)
$3.67 – Chevron at Ajo and Campbell (up 14 percent since April 10)
