The site, which he and his business partner hope to launch later this month, is sort of like an Entertainment Book, he said — you know, one of those books full of coupons that school groups and clubs often sell to raise money. Except it’s online.
As the plan goes, both local businesses and consumers would sign up to be members of ClickerShock. The businesses would get to use a template for creating coupons. Consumers would get the benefit of having coupons and special offers targeted to their specific interests, MacNeal said.
ClickerShock plans to charge businesses $30 per year and consumers $25 for six months or $45 per year for the service, he said. Some promotions would be offered for free to the public, MacNeal said. Like the Entertainment Books, the memberships would be sold largely by groups doing fund-raisers, he said.
Consumers would have the option of printing out coupons or using a text message code to redeem the special offers, he said.
“When you’re out and about, you don’t have to remember to bring a paper coupon with you,” he said.
