These days, companies are slapping solar panels on a seemingly endless array of consumer products, from flashlights to fountains.
Now straight from the why-didn’t-someone-think-of-that-sooner department comes a Phoenix company marketing a solar-powered “robotic” pool skimmer.
The Solar Breeze will cruise around your pool under sun power, scooping up leaves and other flotsam and leaving you more time to hang in your hammock. If you’ve ever owned a pool, you already know that keeping a pool skimmed is a seemingly endless and sometimes back-breaking job.
The only possible downside is the cost — $449 plus shipping. So you can decide whether it’s worth your time skimming yourself (or the time it takes to get your teenage kid to do it).
Meanwhile, you can check out the product at the company’s Web site which includes a cool video of the thing cruising around a pool.
