Now when you order food at Extreme Pita, you will be able to find out instantly just how healthy your choices were.
In Arizona, the Canadian franchise is trying out a system to provide calorie counts and nutrition information directly on customers’ receipts along with tips about healthier eating.
For instance: “Did you know? If you choose lite mayo instead of chipotle mayo on your pita you will save 160 calories and 10 grams of fat?”
The company also posts nutrition information on posters throughout the restaurants.
There is one location at North Oracle and West Wetmore roads.
Here is the press release:
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – Local consumers looking to make healthier choices and keep track of their nutritional intake when eating out now have an easier way to do so, thanks to Extreme Pita. The Canadian quick serve franchise has partnered with the Nutricate™ Receipt system to provide its customers with personalized receipts that reflect the nutritional value of their exact order.
The world’s first receipt-based nutritional information solution, the Nutricate™ Receipt system provides consumers with a convenient and meaningful way to understand their nutritional options. Customers receive a customized receipt highlighting the calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein and nutritional daily value for everything they order. The receipt also offers tips on how to eat healthier by providing additional information on the receipt such as “Did you know? If you choose lite mayo instead of chipotle mayo on your pita you will save 160 calories and 10 grams of fat?”
“Our customers want to take responsibility for what they eat and we want to help them achieve their nutritional goals,” said Alex Rechichi, Co-Founder and President of Extreme Pita. “We have always offered other nutritional information in our restaurants, but Nutricate takes it one step further by customizing the information for each individual.”
Extreme Pita has installed the Nutricate Receipt system in all of its Arizona restaurants and plans to eventually offer the benefit in its more than 200 restaurants throughout the United States and Canada. Currently, Extreme Pita operates seven restaurants in Arizona, including locations in Chandler, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe and Tucson.
Positioned in a niche between monster fast food outlets and fast casual dining environments, Extreme Pita continues to offer increasingly busy Americans convenience and value with its fresh, nutritious and large selection of pita sandwiches. Committed to creating a unique product bursting with healthy ingredients, the booming restaurant features a “no rules” menu and customizes every rolled pita to suit the individual tastes of its health conscious customers. Extreme Pita’s custom-ordered items use non-processed cheeses, meats and sauces, and are served fresh or sautéed in water, not oil, in front of the customer.
“Nutricate is committed to developing nutritional reporting solutions that not only offer the greatest benefit to consumers, but are also easy for food service providers to implement and manage,” said Jay Ferro, inventor and CEO of Nutricate. “We are delighted to be working with Extreme Pita, and look forward to assisting them in providing their customers with the personalized nutritional information they need to make smarter, more informed choices about what they’re eating.”
