Two Tucson hospitals are listed in Thomson Healthcare’s list of 100 Top Hospitals, released this week.
University Medical Center is listed in the “major teaching hospitals” section. And for the fourth time, Northwest Medical Center is listed in the “large community hospitals” section.
There are eight measurements Thomson uses to pick the best hospitals.

According to the report, if all hospitals had performed at the level of these leading hospitals on the eight patient safety measures studied, they would have saved $253 million and 7,914 lives during the time period the study examined.
