Miller’s Surplus has opened a second location at 1537 S. Craycroft.
The new, approximately 5,000-square-foot store, which opened May 2, caters specifically to clientele interested in military and public safety gear, according to store manager Quinn Kavanaugh.
Items include camouflage, boots and uniforms among other surplus goods.
Kavanaugh said the store is meant to appeal to people serving in the military, Border Patrol, FBI and police forces.
The original store, at 406 N. 6th Ave, also carries camping, hunting and motorcycle gear, along with other products.
UPDATE
An alert reader noted that Miller’s used to have a store on the East Side in the early 1990s. James Clay, the owner of Miller’s, said they had a store on South Craycroft for about eight years and on South Kolb for about four years before closing in 1992.
The difference between that store and this new one, Clay said, is that this store caters strictly to the military and law enforcement crowd, whereas the previous store had all the typical surplus gear.
I live on the Eastside of town and I have always enjoyed shopping at Millers Surplus. But with Tucson transportation it is a hassle to get downtown This new store is really good and convenient!
