Clocking In

Of Harleys, lawnmowers and weedwhackers

07/22/2009 02:48 PM
Dan Sorenson
Tucson Harley riders headed for their annual brand-specific, alcohol-fueled weeklong biker party in Sturgis, S.D. at the end of the month are going to be hearing about ethanol, as well as Milwaukee’s Finest and Jack Daniels. The Renewable Fuels Association, the ethanol lobby, announced it’s going to have a big presence in Sturgis, including some sort of sponsorship with Toby Keith and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. The ethanol folks have a bit to learn about Harley riders, however, since most HD loyalists won’t take kindly to having their beloved V-Twins lumped in with “lawn mowers and weed eaters” as sought-after new ethanol users. — Dan Sorenson
