Working in bed, on vacation?

05/19/2009 12:38 PM
Dan Sorenson

Credant Technologies, an international computer security company, cites a survey of 300 City of London workers showing that a quarter of them “work on a mobile device” in bed before going to sleep.

Credant, of course, sees this as a security risk, and they’re probably right; how many people use encryption on their home wireless systems, let alone know if the wi-fi systems in hotels are secure?

Meanwhile, another survey, this one by The Creative Group – a staffing company specializing in advertising types, says 61 percent of marketing and advertising execs say they check in on work at least several times a day while on vacation. Listen Chad, if you’re checking in on work several times a day you’re not ON vacation and what you really need isn’t data encryption, it’s a divorce lawyer.
