Have you had work hours cut, lost benefits after having a full-time job turned into a part-time job or experienced other decreases in income or benefits short of being laid off? On the other hand, if you are an employer, have you had to cut working hours at your business?
If so, we’d like to hear your stories. Please contact Dan Sorenson at the Arizona Daily Star by phone at 573-4185 or by email at dsorenson@azstarnet.com
I was one of the 7% of a total work force downsizing laid off from Intuit in August. It took me two months to get a new job and I was forced to take a $6.00 pay cut with no benefits just to barely keep everything going. I am now considering having to leave the city just to get a livable wage for my daughter and I.
i work for a local stucco company here in tucson and we were given a letter last week with our paychecks that the company had to cut our wages 15% due to the economy. what choice do we have? we have to work. i dont handle the bills at home my wife does and she is so stress out how she gets by with the little i make? i dont know she said its better then no check at all then we would be homeless and we have 5 grandkids living here with us they shut off our gas, but as long as we have power and water, we have been boiling our water and try to keep warm with electric heaters what can we do, i just hope it gets better so i dont have to hear my wife crying at nite on how shes going to pay the rent or the bills god help us all.
