Tucson makes cheap destination tip list

12/05/2008 11:55 AM
Dan Sorenson

Tucson is the inexpensive place to be in August, say those dollar-squeezing tipsters at
CheapTickets.com.

Cheap travel wisdom has it that our toasty August average 103-degree highs drive down rates at those trendy spas, making them 52 percent cheaper than during peak season.

New Orleans is the August runner up, for those who prefer steam heat.

Las Vegas comes in a weak third.

Death Valley and Hell didn’t even make the list.
