Former Wildcat John (I guess he goes by Jonathan now) Meloan made his big-league debut in Saturday night’s 7-0 loss to the surging Padres.

Meloan, a hard-throwing right-hander, pitched two scoreless innings, struck out one and walked three. Ken Gumick of mlb.com said Meloan could be the most intriguing of the Dodgers’ Sept. 1 callups. The full story is here.
