'Daily Show' lampoons ASU's honorary degree snub for Obama

Seeing as Arizona State University is set to welcome President Obama in a matter of hours, some folks in Tucson might be upset at the University of Arizona’s lack of presidential cachet during this year’s commencement ceremony.
It turns out Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” might offer the perfect medicine.
In a nearly five-minute segment, Daily Show stalwart Jason Jones tours campus and asks probing questions to ASU students, at one point getting a trio to make fools of themselves. They even poke fun at ASU’s past awarding of an honorary degree to the former prime minister of Canada. It’s a great laugh for anyone, especially UA folks.
One of my favorite highlights comes at the 2:30 mark, when Jones narrates:
“To really get this story I headed to the ASU library to speak with students
…
Nobody in there.”
Check out the segment below, or log on to the show’s Web site to view last night’s full episode.
That was hilarious. Probably because it was not Jon Leibowitz doing the story.
