Paul Stekler, who wrote and co-produced the acclaimed PBS film “The Choice 2008,” will discuss politics and the election on campus on Nov. 17.

Hopefully Stekler’s discussion, where he plans to air clips from the film that aired on FRONTLINE, will provide some much-needed perspective to the presidential election, coming almost two weeks after Tuesday’s vote.

The free event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 in the UA’s John P. Schaefer Center for Creative Photography, 1030 N. Olive Drive.

To learn more about Stekler and the event, check out this UA press release.

On a side note, if you haven’t seen “The Choice 2008,” I highly recommend it. I thought that Stekler did a great job of framing both presidential candidates through their personal narratives.

If you haven’t seen it, PBS will be showing it tonight (that’s Monday, Nov. 3) at 9 p.m. on KUAT. Also, you can watch the film anytime by logging onto the PBS Web site.
