I have been in hiding ;-)
While I was not writing here (and yet dying to write)I have been on a job hunting. I decided that my resume needed a makeover, so a friend recommended for me to go to the Kino Center on Ajo way and make an appointment with a resume expert.
If you are looking for a job and need a resume update, get a makeover with a resume expert too. Nowadays, employers look for more of a "functional" resume instead of the usual chronological resume.
Also, I learned that resumes need to be short and sweet, just like the blogs. In other words, resumes need to be specific to the type of job I was looking for.
With the touch of expertise, my resume was transformed into a functional 2-page resume describing talents that I have to local references that I was able to provide.
The next day I went to the interview, and with an added touch of confidence, I said, "I am the best person for this job." Aham, aham, I never said that before in an interview, but I was confident and I wanted the job really bad. So I found my inner strength to say it out loud and of course, followed by the whys.
Two days later, I got a job offer and I happily accepted. I was jumping up and down like a six-year old getting a bike on Christmas day.
So, dear readers, I have the intention to continue writing as often as I can...but not as much as I used to write.
In my first week of the job, I have been taking a lot of public transportation, popularly known as the bus. Well...let this be my next blog.
Until then, have a great weekend Sahuaritans.
I miss you all.
Congratulations on the new job!
I've missed your blogs, Mona!
Congrats on your new job! How are your kiddos adjusting? BTW, Izzy thought they were precious!
I can't wait to hear about your bus experiences!!
