SALAAM SAHUARITA: Buzzing Sounds
Mona Darwich-Gatto 135 weeks ago

The other day I was handing out flyers for the National Night Out. I had with me my two bambinos and it was a bit hot. As I went door-to-door, I heard buzzing sounds. It was of honey-bees.

They were doing what they were doing in those big pink bushes that almost every house in our subdivision has. Imagine what was like to walk by each one of them (over 45 homes) with two toddlers.

Some homes had cars blocking the walkway to the door or had their bushes close to the door. In that case, I left the fliers in the windshield hoping the owner would not get mad at me.

Since the street I live is long and I do not really know more than a handful of neighbors, going to door-to-door still is intimidating. Many times, the first thing I say is "I am not sellling anything! I am passing Neighborhood Watch info."

A few days has passed by and all the pink petals are on the ground. I am not sure if it is the bee's after work or just nature taking its course.

When I drive on Sahuarita road between La Villita and Nogales highway, I feel delighted to see how green the Pecan fields are right now, especially after the rain.

It feels,at times, that this is not Arizona, this can't be in the middle of a desert, so green. But it is, and in itself, I feel it is a great gift of nature of how it always surprises me.

I absolutely love Sahuarita and its surrounding scenery.
