Experiencing Nature Through the Senses
Margo Hernandez 66 weeks ago

I spent a fun hour with about 40 youngsters and their moms at the Oro Valley Public Library on Monday. I was taking a bunch of photos of kids taking part “Experiencing Nature Through the Senses.” The program was presented by the Pima County Parks and Recreation Department.
The event was created for children between the ages of 5 and 12, but it held the attention of children who were younger and much older. In fact, the moms who brought their children had no problem taking part in the activities.
The favorite activity, hands down, required the kids to wear blindfolds and then feel an animal skin to try to determine what it was. The kids guessed right on each one -- including coyote and deer pelts.
