I love journaling in various formats. Among other things I like to document conversations with my kids and tuck them away.. I do so with the hopes that when they are adults they can "discover" little notebooks among their keepsakes, possibly recall a special moment we shared (and maybe even have a chuckle...)

I didn't post this entire conversation because I was afraid this blog idea might be too weird..

I'll post this conversation in its entirety (it's lengthy) depending on the feedback (or lack thereof) this gets... (gulp!)

Today I had to get Richard to that early morning bus! Big band competition at Disneyland!

Awesome!! I'm sure he'll have a blast! I know those trips can be kinda rough on mom and dad, though.. He'll be back before you know it! Hang in there...

Awesome Blog! I think the hardest part of blogging on here is starting. I was nervous...why I don't know. I've blogged on different sites before and never have enve given it a moments notice. It hink cause everyone is so close in the community...fear of offending someone I guess...I think this format is great and I look forward to hearing more from you...I think I need to post another blog soon, lol.

Oh and Lea, those band trips are ALWAYS fun. I was in the band growing up all through high school and we went every year to disneyland for a band trip. We even got to go in the backlot one year and they recorded our band playing the background music for two minutes in Bambi...it was fun listening to all the missed notes as bambi bounced around on screen. Hope he has fun!

They are doing something like that. A DVD is being professionally made of the performance so once I get mine I will see if I can find a way to share it. The SMS A band was invited to do some show for Disneyland and we were given very strict instructions on the children's clothes. I guess perfection is a must for Disneyland. Then again they have a rep to maintain. I am sure the children will have a blast. It really is a great opportunity for them.

Joel, you are EXACTLY right. I was/am very nervous. Afraid someone will think it's evil of me to freak out my kids like that.. I asked Mona and Lea if, in a day or two, I suffered Blogger's Remorse, could I just delete it all and pretend it never happened? But it doesn't look like that's possible..

Lea, I don't know what's the max length a blog can be, so I think I'll post this puppy in segments just to be safe. But I gotta first decide where to insert the breaks. . . :o)

I have a rule of thumb for length in blogging: keep it short and sweet, short paragraphs and keep it conversational.

When I write longer blogs, my rule it to keep shorter paragraphs.

I think you will be safe with the crew that is on here Lulu. I feel safe blogging about whatever and if there is that negative comment from some random person don't sweat it; I if not all of us have your back ;-)

What a crazy/busy day this was.. but it ended on a WONDERFUL note tonight with the Annual Second Grade Concert at the SUSD Auditorium. The music teacher, Ms. Castle, along with Misses Young and Osborn, put together a great show and the kids all did a super job. There was a duet sung by two sisters that actually made my eyes well up.. The entire show was very impressive and just plain cute!
