IRHS Interest-- Shade Me From The World Of Sunshine

It seems like everyday the world is getting

brighter and brighter. No one can walk outside

in Arizona without noticing how bright the sun

is. The perfect way to shield yourself from the

sun is the obvious—wear sunglasses. Buying

sunglasses seems like a simple enough concept,

but good eyewear can be hard to find. When

searching for the perfect pair of shades, always

look for style, color, and shape.

The hottest style for sunglasses is big.

Huge, oversized “sun-shielders” are what everyone

is wearing. They are fun, funky, and can hide

your face when you didn’t get enough beauty sleep

the night before. Designers, like Chanel and

Dior, carry these huge sunglasses in every

imaginable color. Though the designer price is

high, it is worth it in the end. However, not

everyone has hundreds of dollars to purchase

designer shades, so when searching for cheaper

sunglasses, try looking at Target, American

Eagle, or Forever 21, where a pair can cost as

little as $4.80.

My favorite place to buy big eyewear is

Forever 21. They are cheap and just as chic as

the clothes they sell. Because I know what looks

good on me, narrowing down my options is not a

hard thing to do. I have a round face, so I tend

to look for more boxy shades so that my head does

not take on a buggy resemblance. People with a

narrower, more triangular face, should be sure to

get sunglasses with a rounder lense. It is

better to keep a contrast between what you are

wearing on your face and your actual face so that

others can tell that there are eyes behind the

dark sunglasses.

The most common colors are black, brown, and

white. The most versatile color of the three is

black because it looks fabulous on every skin

tone. However, if you have pale skin, try

sunglasses in brown; the color will contrast with

a light complexion better than a white pair

would. With darker skin tones, white rimmed

shades enhance your face color. Because there

are only three common colors of eye wear

maintaining a sense of personality is

imperative. Looking for touches of rhinestones,

glitter, or cut-outs can help keep you out of the

sea of normal.

Sunglasses are a great investment for all

Arizonans and a necessary survival kit

accessory. Even if you are only willing to spend

$4.80 at Forever 21, a good pair of shades is as

imperative as a good pair of jeans.
