On Monday I told you how to add a photo and bio to your profile and on Wednesday I explained a cool feature on your profile page called the vanity URL. Today I am going to tell you how to send a photo to the site via your cell phone.
This is easily one of my favorite features of SahuaritaStar.com. First you need to go to your profile page. You can get to your profile by simply clicking the 'PROFILE' link on the top navigation, just to the right of the 'CALENDAR' link. NOTE: This is only for registered users. None registered users will be asked to register here.
Underneath your vanity URL you will see text that looks something like this:
'Send photos from your cell phone. Your personal photo upload address is sahuarita56starrules@photos.sahuaritastar.com (change address)'
What this means is that if you go into your phone address book and create a new entry for the email address 'sahuarita56starrules@photos.sahuaritastar.com' (this is a made up email address, by the way, so don't use it. The site will give you your own) you will now be able to send us your cell photos via that address. So if you are out and about and see breaking news or capture a fun, spontaneous moment, simply fire up a new message and send the photo along! The subject line of the message will act as the photo's caption. All new photos will go straight to your profile page and to the tag 'cellphone' which can be found here: http://www.sahuaritastar.com/gallery/tag/cellphone.
If you captured a breaking news event, you can go onto the site when you get home and add the tag 'news' to your photo. To read more about tags see the Tip of the Day from Friday, March 3.
