“Paradise Now,” a Foreign Film Academy Award runner-up, will be shown Saturday, Sept. 9, at 7:30pm at the Jewish Community Center at 3800 E. River Road. It is open to the public.
It is the story of two childhood friends in today’s Palestine, now young men working at meaningless jobs with little future and painful pasts, and their attempts to find meaning in life – and death.
The movie, made by Palestinian producer and Israeli co-producer, it is a powerful portrayal of life in modern-day Palestine.
After the movie, there will be a discussion involving Israeli, Palestinian, American Jewish, and American Muslim panelists.

The program is a joint presentation of Congregation Ner Tamid and the International Center for Peace.
Tickets to the event will be a $10 donation.
