Labor Day Weekend Celebration at Rancho Sahuarita

Safety, education and carnival-style fun will be the theme all weekend-long at Rancho Sahuarita’s Labor Day Weekend Celebration. The fun-filled celebration begins Saturday, September 2nd and runs through Monday, September 4th.

On Saturday, back to school safety will be the focus. In a carnival-like setting, both children and adults can learn more about bike safety with tips provided by the Sahuarita Police Department. There will also be an opportunity to inspect a real armored truck courtesy of the Sahuarita SWAT Department. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (“MADD”), 4-H, and Farmers Insurance, to name a few, will be on-hand with informative literature and giveaways.

On Sunday, September 3rd, from 11am-4pm, the informative fun continues with school bus safety provided by SUSD while Pima Community College provides continuing education information. For those students going off to college, Chase Bank will provide saving and budgeting tips. And to cool off on the last big summer weekend, the Green Valley Fire Department will bring their large hose and provide passerby’s a respite from the summer heat. The Girls Scouts, 4-H, Tucson-Pima Public Library and Great Expectations will also be on-hand with activities, information and giveaways.

Visit the Rancho Sahuarita Carnival on Monday, September 4th where attractions such as a dunk tank, high strikers, pie throwing, bean bag toss, “eating contests”, ring toss, and a Hula Hoop contest will be featured! Giggles the Clown, jumping castles, henna tattoes, hair braiding, and music by DJ Hector will provide plenty of Labor Day enjoyment. The Carnival will start at 11am and run through 4pm.

All weekend-long, enjoy kettle corn and hot dogs, available for purchase outside Club Rancho Sahuarita. In addition to refreshments, the Coffee Caboose will be selling nachos, candies and delicious drinks.

Rancho Sahuarita Under the Stars

On Saturday, September 2nd, Rancho Sahuarita will be hosting the family-friendly movie, “Nanny McPhee“, outdoors on the “Big Screen”, as part of the “Rancho Sahuarita Under the Stars Movie Series”, beginning at 8pm. Enjoy free popcorn and movie, courtesy of Rancho Sahuarita and its many builders.
