Welcome to installment #2 of the Tip of the Day. Today and throughout the rest of the week I want to highlight some of the features of the profile page. This is the place where you can tell your neighbors a little bit about yourself; upload a small photo of yourself (or an image you want to represent you); access all of your blog entries, photos and comments; give yourself your own unique vanity URL and set up your cell phone to deliver photos directly to SahuaritaStar.com. Today we’ll deal with your personal photo and bio.
HOW DO I GET TO MY PROFILE?
You can get to your profile by simply clicking the ‘PROFILE’ link on the top navigation, just to the right of the ‘CALENDAR’ link. NOTE: This is only for registered users. Non-registered users will be asked to register here.
HOW DO I ADD A PHOTO AND BIO?
If you’ve never been here before, you’ll notice that your headshot image is of a shadowy man (or woman) with sloping shoulders. Scary, ain’t it. You can edit this page by clicking on the ‘(edit)’ link next to your name. This will take you to a page where you can add a photo to show the world your perfect smile and write a short bio. (Or a long bio, if you’ve accomplished a lot and can’t contain your achievements in a tiny, tiny box.) Add the photo by clicking 'BROWSE' and find the image you want to use on your computer. The photo will resize to 100 pixels by 100 pixels, so try to use an image that is already relatively small.
Once you’ve uploaded your photo and penned your biography, click ‘UPDATE’.
Check back tomorrow when I’ll explain how to give yourself a Vanity URL (I’ll also explain what the heck a Vanity URL is).
Actually, the photo will crop to be square, and resize to be 100×100.
